Having such a good time here in SA. Just been on a 4 day safari in the Kruger National Park which was absolutely amazing. We saw so many different types animals really, really close to up. Most of the time we were in a people carrier type thing but we also did some walking and went in an open top vehicle. At one point we drove through the middle of about 20 elephants and right at the end of our second day a cheater ran across the road in front of us, crouched down right below the window of the car and just stared up at me with huge round eyes before running off. He was cool! We slept in tents for 2 nights (although they did have beds in them!) and on the last night stayed in a really luxurious lodge where we had such a tasty dinner served to us outside around a huge fire and even a cooked breakfast in the morning.
One night we went on a night time safari which set off just before the sun was setting. As the sun set we stopped off for a drink (which we'd brought with us) and played an african spitting game. The winner was the person who could spit a jiraffe poo pelet the furthest.....lovely! On our way back to the hostel we stopped off at the largest green gorge in the world. I think it must be one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
